Early Xmas To Jomo Kenyatta Home Kids

It was an early Xmas for the children of Jomo Kenyatta for the Physically Disabled after #TeamRCE presented them with gifts which is part of the club’s long-term support for the home. Rotaractors spent part of mid-morning and afternoon playing with the kids, cleaning up their rooms, reading stories for them. Never have these children been so happy; having people that love and care for them. The Saturday event was among the many events the club has organized over the past one year with this being the first books & uniforms drive activity, which will continue to run indefinitely.

To donate story-books, clothes, shoes or uniforms for the kids, kindly email us on emburotaractclub@gmail.com or call the IPP (Immediate Past President) Kelvin +254-723032540 Ag. President John +254724-494898 or the Community Service Director, Lucy Ann +254-728094226

Cancer Awareness Race-How It Went Down

After weeks of preparing and great anticipation, the Oasis of Life: Cancer Awareness Life Race went down over the weekend with a great number turning up for the event. #TeamRCE members, who were among the sponsors of the event, turned up in large numbers to support the event.

#LeAfricanFiesta – The President’s Inaugral Speech

The outgoing DRR, ADRR, President Rotary Club of Embu, IPP Rotary club of Embu, Rotarians, Guest Speaker, Rotaractors and our visitors good evening.

Am humbly honoured to be here with all of you; it is important that we are here together and that it is all about Rotary.

In Rotary we stand together we can do so much together and everyone loves Rotary for a reason.

So in reference to this year’s theme, i.e.  HOW DO WE OR HOW DO I LIGHT UP ROTARY?

  1. Showing people what you love about Rotary. (Community service, professional service, international service and club service.)
  2. Doing service/community projects. (Jomo Kenyatta Children’s Home)
  3. Mentorship programs.(forming interact clubs)
  4. Using the social media.
  5. By wearing a t-shirt and a pin it shows that you have the Rotary spirit and also following the four way test which is: of the things we think say or do is it the truth, is it fair to all concerned, will it build goodwill and better friendship will it be beneficial to all concerned.
  6. Joint clubs meetings.i.e. Visiting other clubs meetings and also invite them over.

Getting a new member is as easy as asking.

To the Rotary club of Embu (mother club) for their support and good nurture.

To the IPP Rotaract club of Embu for the far that you have brought the Rotaract Club Of Embu.

To my fellow Rotaractors thanks for being here.

As I finish I will say this

  • Interact are numbers, Rotaractors are the creative ones and the Rotarians are the image all brought together is Rotary.

  • It is better to light up a single candle than to sit and curse the darkness.

Path to Success…

Once in a while we’ll be sharing with you the secrets of success. They are basically things you can do to lay a foundation to be successful. For today I give you this:-

Sleep less. This is one of the best investments you can make to make your life more productive and rewarding. Most people do not need more than 6 hours to maintain an excellent state of health. Try getting up one hour earlier for 21 days and it will develop into a powerful habit. Remember, it is the quality not the quantity of sleep that is important. And just imagine having an extra 30 hours a month to spend on the things that are important to you.

My favorite part in this, it is the quality not quantity of sleep that’s important.
